Directions GraphicDriving Directions to the Arnold School of Public Health

The Norman J. Arnold School of Public Health is housed in the Health Sciences Building, which is located at 800 Sumter Street, at the corner of Sumter and Greene Streets. The building is a brick structure, with two entrances facing Sumter Street. As a point of reference, we are located in the same block of Sumter Street as the historic Horseshoe.
Any interstate or other highway which will lead you to I-26, I-77, or I-20 toward Columbia will lead you to us.

Here are directions for several routes:

From the Airport:
Turn right out of the airport parking lot- onto Aviation Way. At the stoplight, turn left onto SC 302 (Airport Boulevard). Follow this road until it intersects US 21, bearing left at the light onto Knox Abbott Drive. Stay on Knox Abbott Drive, crossing the Congaree River Bridge. The street name will change to Blossom Street. Turn left onto Sumter Street and the Health Sciences Building is on the comer of Sumter and Greene Street.

I-20 West from Florence:
Take SC 277 (exit 73) toward Columbia. This freeway becomes Bull Street. Follow Bull Street until it intersects (dead ends) with Pendleton Street. Turn right onto Pendleton Street. At the second stoplight turn left onto Sumter Street. Our building is at the end of this long block, which includes the Horseshoe, at the comer of Sumter Street and Greene Street, on your left.

I-20 East from Augusta:
Take Exit 58 (US I toward West Columbia); stay on this highway, which becomes Meeting Street and then becomes Gervais Street. You will pass the State Capitol on the right. Turn right onto Sumter Street. Travel three blocks and we are on the comer of Sumter Street and Greene Street, just past the historic Horseshoe.

I-26 East from Spartanburg:
Follow I- 1 26 toward downtown Columbia and exit at Elmwood Avenue. Turn right off Elmwood to Assembly Street. From Assembly, turn left onto Greene Street (the Koger Center for the Arts will be on your right). At the second traffic light, you will see the School of Public Health on the left, at the comer of Sumter and Greene Streets.

I-26 West from Charleston:
Take Exit 111-B (US 1) at the USC sign. This highway becomes Meeting Street and then Gervais Street. Turn right onto Sumter Street. The Health Sciences Building is on the comer of Sumter and Greene Street.

1-77 from Charlotte:
Exit on SC 277 (toward Columbia), which becomes Bull Street. Follow Bull Street until it dead ends at Pendleton Street. Turn right onto Pendleton. At the second stoplight, turn left onto Sumter Street. Our building is at the end of this long block, which includes the Horseshoe, at the comer of Sumter Street and Greene Street, on your left.

US 76/378 from Sumter:
The street name will change from Sumter Highway to Gamers Ferry Road to Devine Street. When Devine Street intersects with Harden Street, turn left onto Harden. Take the next right onto Blossom Street. At the fourth stoplight turn right onto Sumter Street. The Health Sciences is on the corner of Sumter and Greene Street.
